The Semiotic Approach of TMNT (2007)

Semiotic is defined as a study of how meaning is created and how it is communicated. It is a way of how we see the world and understand how the environment and culture we live in creates a massive impact on all of us unconsciously. The origins of the semiotic lie in the visual and linguistic studies on how signs and symbols create meaning. What we automatically think and do often conducted by a complex set of messages and conventions, depending on our ability to interpret them instinctively and instantly. A common example of a semiotic would be the traffic light and how we react to each of the colors. Red means stop, green means go and yellow means ready to stop. We know this without thinking about it. Not only semiotics are seen visually, but it can also be seen through sound as well.

The task for this assignment is based on the article written by Tartleton Gillespie titled The Stories Digital Tool Tells. It focuses on how humans take notice of technology and the stories that are told via digital tools. To give a generic defintion, a digital tool is defined as an outlet in which the tools are characterized by electronic and computerized technologies, according to IGI Global. Basically, it is what we use everyday via our phones, computers and television. A piece of technology has a story to tell as it has an agenda.

And now, culture has impacted our transportation. Before the existence of Uber, people drive around places using their own cars or a taxi.
